A gunman shot and killed himself outside a south Mississippi bank after shooting a bank employee, according to a media report.

The Enterprise-Journal in McComb is reporting a man armed with a shotgun shot the vice president of the Citizens Bank in Tylertown.

The gunman then shot and killed himself.

Both shootings took place in the parking lot of the bank at about noon Wednesday, according to media reports.

The E.J. identified the shooter as Chad Loup, of Mt. Hermon, Louisiana. The vice president, Chad Parrish, is in stable condition at an area hospital, the E.J. said.

Walthall County Sheriff Kyle Breland and Tylertown Police Chief Brandon Bright weren’t immediately available for comment.

An official at the bank declined to comment when reached by phone.
