The Washington Redskins have the No. 2 pick. There may be some teams that could want to trade for it.
At the moment, the Washington Redskins are in possession of the No. 2 overall pick in the 2020 NFL Draft. The pick was earned after a long season of performing poorly en route to a 3-13 season.
With the selection, it’s heavily favored that the Redskins will select Ohio State edge rusher Chase Young. He’s the best defensive player in the draft and arguably is the best overall player. He’d upgrade the team’s already strong defensive front and could elevate the front seven to top-tier status.
That said, nothing in the draft is a foregone conclusion. The Redskins well may take Young, but they also could explore trading down. In a draft loaded with quarterback prospects, the ‘Skins pick is very valuable. It represents a clear chance for a team looking for a franchise signal-caller to move up and guarantee it can have its choice of quarterback — after LSU’s Joe Burrow, of course.
The Redskins may not ultimately move the No. 2 pick, as they may lock in on Young early. That said, there may be some chatter regarding teams wanting to trade up and they could at least see some offers. So, here’s a look at the teams that could engage the Redskins in conversations about the second pick.
