In association with the Bureau of Engraving and Printing (BEP), the United States Mint today started selling a new money product, the America’s Founding Fathers 2020 Currency Set.
Annually released and at the same $21.95 price since 2014, this year’s set holds two banknotes with matching serial numbers beginning with “2020.”
The included bills are a Series 2017 $1 note and a Series 2013 $2 note, both from the Federal Reserve Bank of New York. They are protectively held within acid-free polymer sleeves in the center panel of a tri-fold presentation folder. The folder’s cover shows U.S. founding fathers George Washington and Thomas Jefferson and a sketch of the Statue of Liberty.
Panels in the folder offer information about the bills and their engravings. The folder’s back bears the BEP’s certificate of authenticity.
