FORT MYERS
Fort Myers Police Department has confirmed a bank robbery at a Fifth Third bank in Fort Myers Tuesday.
There was heavy police presence, and helicopters are circling the area for over an hour around the bank at 11511 State Road 82, near Colonial Blvd.
Police say a lone robber described as an older male wearing a blonde wig, plaid shirt, black pants with a gauze patch over one eye handed a note to a teller demanding money.
The alleged robber fled the scene without any cash. No weapon was shown, but police now ask the public to use caution as he may be armed.
