LIMA — Large amounts of fentanyl, suspected cocaine and crack cocaine, firearms and a pharmaceutical grade commercial pill press were among the items found last month during raids conducted by the the West Central Ohio Crime Task Force, with assistance from the Allen County Sheriff’s Office SWAT team, Auglaize County Sheriff’s Office SWAT team, Allen County Sheriff’s Office, Lima Police Department and Special Agents from the Federal Bureau of Investigation.
According to a statement issued by the Allen County Sheriff’s Office, during the evening hours of July 28 and into the morning hours of July 29, the task force served simultaneous search warrants at 1201 Reese Ave. and 1732 Norval Ave. in Lima.
These search warrants were in connection with the ongoing investigation and large seizure from July 13, when more than 11.5 kilograms of fentanyl, $128,000 firearms and a pharmaceutical grade commercial pill press were seized.
During the searches of both residences, approximately 5 pounds of suspected fentanyl were located, along with approximately 2,500 suspected fentanyl pills, suspected cocaine, suspected crack cocaine, suspected marijuana, $673 in U.S. currency, an AK-47 rifle with multiple magazines and ammunition, a semi-automatic handgun with multiple magazines and ammunition, and another pharmaceutical grade commercial pill press. The investigation is ongoing.
The West Central Ohio Crime Task Force is comprised of investigators from the Allen County Sherriff’s Office, Van Wert County Sheriff’s Office, Lima Police Department, Ohio State Highway Patrol and Delphos Police Department.
