Appearing today as the third of three new products aimed toward younger generations is the 2019 Youth Coin and Currency Set. This latest collectible is a joint collaboration between the United States Mint and the Bureau of Engraving and Printing (BEP).
Found within the set are five proof quarter dollars and a $2 Federal Reserve Note. Described by the Mint as its first “kid-focused coin and currency set,” the product has a mintage of 25,000 units and an initial household order limit of one.
It features a tri-fold presentation folder with an outer sleeve showcasing Mighty Minters™ characters — Timothy, Lina, Alex, Eli, and Layla. Inside are the following America the Beautiful quarter dollars:
- 2019-S Lowell National Historical Park Quarter (Massachusetts)
- 2019-S American Memorial Park (Northern Mariana Islands)
- 2019-S War in the Pacific National Historical Park (Guam)
- 2019-S San Antonio Missions National Historical Park (Texas)
- 2019-S Frank Church River of No Return Wilderness (Idaho)
All are from the San Francisco Mint and struck in a collector grade proof finish. Proof coins showcase sharp reliefs and mirror-like backgrounds with frosted foregrounds giving them a special cameo effect.
The included uncirculated $2 Series 2009 note is from Federal Reserve Banks in Cleveland, the Atlanta or Chicago. The reverse of the bill depicts a scaled-down likeness of the “Signing of the Declaration of Independence” painting by John Trumbull.
