The National Bank of Ukraine (NBU) on August 12-16 reduced the purchase of foreign currency on the interbank forex market by 61.5% against the previous week, to $59.8 million.
The regulator did not sell currency last week, as reported on the NBU’s website.
It is also reported since the beginning of the year, the purchase of foreign currency by the regulator has exceeded its sale by $2.879 billion, or by 92%.
As UNIAN reported earlier, the National Bank in July 2019 bought US$1.3 billion on the interbank forex market to replenish the country’s international reserves.
