Let a new report tell it, the Cleveland Browns have been all over the Washington Redskins about Trent Williams this season.
The Redskins just aren’t budging.
The report comes from NFL.com’s Mike Garafolo, who said “It’s not just a one-time thing that (Dorsey) called and said ‘hey are you trading Trent Williams?’”
Garafolo goes on to say that the Redskins simply aren’t interested in getting a deal done during the season. But he says a trade could happen next offseason, as the Redskins front office wants a look at the draft order before making a move.
By then, it’s hard to say where the Redskins and Williams will be from a relationship standpoint. And there is plenty of debate to be had about whether or not the team should just go ahead and move Williams before the deadline.
But even if a deal doesn’t occur, it sure sounds like other teams could have the green light to make offers next offseason.
