SHELTON, Conn. (WTNH) – Shelton Police arrested two New York men on Wednesday for using fraudulent credit cards in a Shelton Walgreens.

Police said Jahquane Rennix, 19 from Queens and Jordy Diggins, 28 from Mount Vernon made two visits to the Shelton Walgreens, once on Monday and again on Wednesday, to steal bank account information from victims in the store.

Police received multiple complaints from victims stating that their bank accounts were compromised and their credit cards were used at the Walgreens in Shelton. The victims still had possession of their cards.

Police obtained video of the two suspects using the fraudulent credit cards at the Walgreens on Monday.

Walgreens employees called Shelton PD when the two men came to the store on Wednesday. Police stopped the two as they were exiting the store.

Police said both men had multiple credit cards in possession and Diggings had a credit card reader.
Investigations revealed that the men were able to obtain victim’s bank information and loaded it onto the fraudulent credit cards. Then, the men would use those cards to purchase gift cards and merchandise.

Both were charged with:

  • 13 counts of Credit Card Theft
  • 13 counts of 3rd Degree Identity Theft
  • 13 counts of Larceny
  • 13 counts of Conspiracy

Diggings was additionally charged with Illegal use of a scanning device.

Both men were held on $10,000 bonds and will be arraigned in Derby Superior court on Thursday.
