UPDATE: Greenville bank robbery suspect due in court – WITN

GREENVILLE, NC (WITN) – Police say a suspected bank robber was caught inside a department store minutes after it happened this morning.

The BB&T branch on Greenville Boulevard was robbed around 10:00 a.m.

Greenville police say some ten minutes after the robbery they spotted a man matching the robber’s description near the Greenville Mall.

36-year-old William Rouse, of Ayden, ran from officers, according to police, and he was caught inside the Belk Store.

Police say the stolen money was recovered.

Rouse is charged with robbery and being held under a $50,000 bond.

Rouse made his first appearance in court Wednesday morning. He asked for a court appointed attorney and is due back in court on November 27.
